Electric Lollipop- can you hear through your tongue?

20 November 2017

This study explores the idea of sensory substitution, i.e, translating the input typically accessed by one sense into information accessible to another sense. In this case, we are attempting to "translate" auditory information (speech) into electrical stimulation of the tongue. We are hoping that this study will contribute to the development of a new generation of hearing devices for those who need them. The participants will try to understand syllables presented to them through an electrode.
