How Does Ageing Affect Skin Immunity?
10 July 2015
Immunity in the skin declines as people get older - leading to a greater risk of developing skin infections and skin cancer. Our research team in the Division of Infection & Immunity at UCL is investigating why and how this decline occurs, and whether anything can be done to prevent it.
Participants will have the opportunity to find out how immune they are to the chickenpox virus, and will be required to have a blood test and skin biopsy (a simple, painless procedure).
