The effect of feeding on gut function

22 March 2019

Obesity is a complicated condition that is poorly understood. The aim of this study is to increase our knowledge of how the condition may arise, and what makes people remain obese. We are comparing 12 people with obesity with 12 people of normal build, and will look at how quickly food empties out of the stomach and travels through the gut, what the blood flow in the gut is, and also to examine hormones which affect how full people feel after eating.
