Abstract
This study critically examines the nature of participation amongst adolescent to young-adult, heterosexual males, approximately ages 15-24, in the sphere of fashion, and additionally explores the notion of sartorial presentation or “style” as a function of age. It will be explored how agents such as masculinity, media, and popular culture work to manipulate youth males’ perception of, and expression through fashion

About the researcher
Matt Porter, both a practicing designer, and design researcher, contributes to the fashion discourse is through combining academic theory, with material production. His design, and research take a sociocultural approach, concerning aspects of intersectionality, menswear, and industry practice. Matt is currently undergoing his MA, at The New School.
