Narcissism and Reward-Seeking

11 November 2014

We’re trying to understand how personality traits interact to predict the way that you approach and seek out rewards. In particular, we're interested in the how the vulnerable and grandiose aspect of narcissism combine to predict these behaviours. The study requires answering a few statements about your thoughts, feelings and motivations in everyday life. In return you'll be offered detailed feedback of your personality results entered into a prize draw to win a volleyball and frisbee.

About the researcher

I’m a PhD student based in the Institute for the Psychology of Elite Performance at Bangor. As part of my Doctoral Thesis i'm interested in what motivates people to be the best and one line of research has focused on the fact that narcissists are driven by success. However, here I'm keen to explore whether this drive for success is underpinned by a sense of vulnerability.
