Home energy and transport use in the United Kingdom

This study examines home energy and transport use and affordability in the UK. The UK is moving to a low-carbon society, with an increased use of renewable energy and sustainable transport options. We want to interview people either online or by phone to collect new information on both energy use at home and how households use transport. Our study aims to examine past and present home energy and transport needs in UK households to inform how to develop future government policies.

The research has been approved by the Social Sciences & Arts Cross-Schools Research Ethics Committee (C-REC) at the University of Sussex.
About the researcher
This study is being led and organised by Dr Mari Martiskainen, a Senior Research Fellow based at the University of Sussex. Alongside Mari, two researchers, Dr Max Lacey-Barnacle, a Research Fellow also based at the University of Sussex and Dr Debbie Hopkins, Associate Professor at the University of Oxford, will be conducting the research. The research is funded by the Centre for Research into Energy Demand Solutions (CREDS).
