Brain vascular function in pre- and post-menopausal women

The aim of this study is to examine if brain blood vessel function changes after menopause. Participants will be asked to attend the University of Birmingham on either one occasion (if post-menopausal) or two occasions (if pre-menopausal) where you will be asked to complete non-invasive vascular function tests. Each visit will last no more than 3 hours, including familiarisation to all functional tests used in the study.

This study has been approved by the University of Birmingham research ethics committee, ethical review number ERN_15-1179.

Bethany Skinner is a PhD student at the School of Sport, Exercise & Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Birmingham. Her research focuses on brain vascular health and the influence of female sex hormones across the lifespan.
