How do challenging life events affect us?

12 January 2024

We want to learn more about how challenging life events, whether small or big, affect everyone; in particular, the tendency to notice bodily sensations and regulate emotions, which are two things believed to impact on our emotional wellbeing. You are invited to take part whether or not you identify as having a history of challenging life events, as I believe it is important to understand the experiences of everyone in in order to develop support for those negatively affected by such events.

About the researcher

Hello, my name is Samantha Olsen and I am a trainee clinical psychologist conducting a research project as part of my doctorate in clinical psychology with Royal Holloway, University of London. I am conducting this research, which will be used to write up my thesis. I am passionate about understanding more about how adverse life experiences affect everyone, in the hope that this can contribute to better support for all struggling with their mental health related to past experiences. I would be very grateful if you could take a look and consider participating. Many thanks :)
