LGBT + Informal Carers of Older People
27 June 2017
BACKGROUND - You are invited to participate in this study, which is looking at the current experiences of informal caregivers who identify as being from the LGBT+ community.
For the purposes of this study, an informal caregiver is someone who provides unpaid care, when looking after a friend, neighbour, colleague, spouse, partner or relative aged 65 or over in a non-professional capacity. This can range from a few hours a day, week or on an ad hoc basis, up to 24/7 care.

About the researcher
My name is Nancy Clark and this research project forms part of my PhD research. I have been an ally to this community for some years now, and this is an area of little research. In the current changes within health and social care, I want to find out if and how this has affected people.
