06 June 2017

This study aims to look at the experience of having a non-parental supportive adult (a.k.a. natural mentor) for young men during times of distress (including suicidal thoughts and feelings). Supportive adult relationships have been shown to be a protective factor against mental health problems. This study looks specifically at the meaning and understanding that men attribute to that relationship in light of their mental health. one off interviews will be analysed using IPA.
