Public perceptions of recent developments in genetic testing

As genetic technologies develop at a rapid pace, more and more individuals have access to information about their genetic make up and their risk of developing diseases in the future. This focus group study of public perceptions of recent developments in genetic testing study will help us to understand social and ethical issues related to these developments, and will help to inform future policy in this area. Focus group participants will receive £15 high street shopping vouchers.

I am a psychologist in the Institute of Inflammation and Ageing, College of Medicine, University of Birmingham. I am interested in research that improves outcomes for people will chronic illnesses, and have a special interest in the assessment of patient/public preferences for preventive/therapeutic interventions for rheumatic conditions.
