Ageing in the Immune System

05 February 2024

Immunity declines with age. Immune ageing results in higher risk of age-related diseases, diminished ability to respond to new infections, and reduced vaccine efficacy. The aim of our research is to understand how and why dysfunction occurs in the ageing immune system compared to young people. Using peripheral blood samples, we focus on the interaction between the immune system and the cells of different organs.

  • Any age, but particularly interested in hearing from participants over the age of 65
