About the researcher

Masters in Nutrition & Behaviour of which I am in my 2nd and final year at Bournemouth University.

I have a deep fascination with the psychological motivations around food, eating behaviours and dietary practices in our current population where food is abundant has become more of a commodity than a physiological necessity. My enquiry within this topic intends to focus on the wide range of pressures on women to aspire to eat in specific ways to ensure they adhere to body and lifestyle ideals.

The intention of this piece of research is to explore the ideas, knowledge and beliefs of adult women in the UK who are in the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. I am seeking to measure if there is a connection between regular exercise and specific dietary practices. Ultimately it is my goal to discover where women get their information from, who instills their ideals and what are the motivators for women to eat in the way that they do.
