Computerized Intervention for Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder

02 July 2019

I’m interested in exploring new ways of targeting the experience of loss of control over eating, and looking at potential mechanisms that might be involved in maintaining disordered eating. The research will involve testing a new app-based intervention, which we hope will help tackle these experiences.

  • 1) A diagnosis of bulimia nervosa or binge eating disorder, or someone who has reason to believe they may meet criteria but has never been formally assessed
  • 2) Is currently in receipt of treatment for their eating difficulties (this can include medication)
  • 3) No severe psychiatric disorder (eg. psychosis)
  • 4) Fluency in English
  • 5) No visual impairment that cannot be repaired with eyewear or contact lenses
  • 6) No drug or alcohol abuse
  • 7) No metabolic disorder
  • 8) Between 18 and 60 years old
  • 9) BMI > 18.5
