Menopause and Muscle repair

Interested in how menopause affects muscle recovery? We are recruiting healthy pre- and post-menopausal women (40–60 yrs) not on HRT or hormonal contraceptive for a study at the University of Nottingham. The study involves four visits, including exercise, blood samples, and muscle biopsies to examine muscle repair. Participants will be compensated for their time.
Requirements
- Generally healthy
- Aged 40-60 years
- Non-smoking
- BMI 19-29.9 kg/m²
- Not currently on hormonal contraceptives or HRT
- Not engaging in regular strength or aerobic exercise training (>3x weekly)

About the researcher
My name is Marion Hanquet, and I’m a PhD researcher in the School of Life Sciences at the University of Nottingham. My research currently focuses on women’s health, menopause, and how oestrogen influences muscle function/repair. I’m passionate about understanding how menopause affects health and muscle recovery in women, so that we can better support women during this important life stage.
