Virtual Reality for Treatment of Social Anxiety

25 October 2017

Social anxiety is an exaggerated fear in people that others will negatively evaluate them. People with social anxiety may fear being criticised, scrutinised, or embarrassed. The overall aims of this 2-part research are to (i) to measure people’s level of social anxiety (online survey); and (ii) whether gradually increasing self-guided exposure to a virtual audience whilst giving a speech is helpful in reducing social anxiety (virtual reality intervention).
