Instagram use, mental health and self-perception amongst adolescent girls

09 May 2019

This research aims to find out more about links between different types of Instagram use (such as browsing celebrity accounts and posting ‘selfies’) and anxiety and depression in adolescent girls. It also explores the possible impact on girls of using Instagram in different ways when feeling anxious and/or depressed, focusing on self-objectification and self-esteem.
