The role of reading comprehension in the Emotional Stroop Effect

As part of this study, you will be shown a series of words that may or may not have an emotional
connotation and will be asked to respond using a computer keyboard. You will also be asked to read a set
of non-emotional words and sentences as part of the study.Last, but not least, you will be asked to fill in a questionnaire about how you feel today.
Requirements
- You must be over the age of 18 and have the capacity to fully understand and consent to this research.
- You should also be a fluent English speaker.

This is a low risk activity and no disadvantages or risks have been identified in association with participating.
Loughborough University will be using information/data from you to undertake this study and will act as the
data controller for this study. This means that the University is responsible for looking after your information
and using it properly. No identifiable personal information will be collected and so your participation in the
study will be confidential.
