Exploring Cognition in Autistic Older Adults

This study aims to explore several areas of cognition in older autistic adults and those who are not autistic. Cognition, or thinking skills, includes mental processes such as problem-solving, memory, visual skills and attention. Initially we will give you a telephone call to check that you meet the criteria to participate. If you meet the criteria, you will be asked to attend a research site in central London to undertake questionnaires and neuropsychological testing, lasting ~2.5 hours.

Requirements

  • Aged 60+
  • Fluent in English
  • With or without a diagnosis of Autism
  • Without a diagnosis of another neurodevelopmental condition (e.g., ADHD, learning disability)
  • Without a neurological condition (e.g., dementia, brain injury, stroke)
  • Without a diagnosis of a psychiatric condition
  • Without sensory impairment (e.g., blindness, deafness)

The study is funded by Royal Holloway, University of London. The study has received ethical approval from the Royal Holloway Ethics Committee and the Local NHS Authority (NHS ethics study ID: 355232).
