PEACE Study

PEACE - Psychosis, Excitation/Inhibition Balance and Cognitive Symptoms

We are looking for healthy volunteers aged 18-65 years for a study to help understand how the brain works.

Volunteers may be compensated £235-£355 for their time, and travel expenses will also be paid.

Requirements

  • You are over 18 and under 65 years old
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You are not taking any of the following medications: amantadine, ketamine, apomorphine, bromocriptine, cabergoline, cimetidine, cyclophosphamide, dantrolene, dextromethorphan, glycopyrronium, hydrochlorothiazide, ifosfamide, lisuride, levodopa, pergolide, phenytoin, pramipexole, procainamide, quinagolide, quinidine, quinine, ranitidine, ropinirole, rotigotine, triamterene, trimethoprim, warfarin, anticonvulsants (carbamazepine, gapapentin, lamotrigine, pregabalin, topiramate, valproate), lithium, benzodiazepines, vortioxetine, tianeptine, acamprosate, baclofen, brexanolone, and z-drugs
  • You do not have any of the following medical conditions: high blood pressure, epilepsy, kidney disease, heart disease, or liver disease
  • You are able to have an MRI – that means you must not have any metal in your body and not be claustrophobic
  • You do not have a history of mental illness
